Mike Vrabel discusses potential trade for A.J. Brown

Despite the playful exchange, speculation about a reunion between Brown and Mike Vrabel, the coach who drafted him in 2019, continues to swirl. Their close bond during their time with the Titans remains strong.
Even after the Titans traded Brown to the Eagles for draft picks, they've maintained contact. Vrabel expressed pride in Brown's growth and maturity, emphasizing the importance of personal development over team affiliation.
"I've watched him grow and mature," Vrabel said at the NFL Combine. "I'm proud of him as a father and husband, and that's what matters."
So, could a reunion be on the horizon? Eagles coach Nick Sirianni praised Brown but offered no guarantees about his future.
"Will A.J. be here next season?" Sirianni said. "I can't predict the future. I'm planning to be the coach next season, but nothing is certain."
This uncertainty has fueled trade rumors, with the Patriots emerging as a potential destination. Brown, a consistent 1,000-yard receiver, would strengthen New England's passing attack.
Vrabel acknowledged the possibility of trades, citing various factors and the dynamic nature of the NFL.
"We'll explore all options to strengthen our roster," Vrabel said. "Trades involve negotiations and compensation. We'll discuss these opportunities as we approach the draft."
Financial considerations also play a role. Trading Brown before June 1 would create significant dead money and salary cap constraints for the Eagles. The Patriots, meanwhile, would need to manage Brown's guaranteed salary in 2026.
