Scientists have discovered traces of ink from ballpoint pens in Martian meteorites, a surprising find that highlights the challenges of preventing contamination in space samples. This discovery, made by a team from the University of the Basque Country in Spain, was published in Applied Geochemistry. The ink was found in six slices of post-processed Martian meteorites, along with other contaminants like copper compounds, synthetic organic molecules, and blue polyester.
